A lock is put on, sealing the boy inside. The Neighbor struggles with him, but eventually gets him into the basement. Then, he hears the neighbor’s son trying to escape. Our character plays soccer with himself, and ends up right outside the neighbor’s house. It all starts with the boy getting locked up. So, as we wrap up the end of Hello Neighbor, we can also try to solve the mystery of Shadow Man. We meet this weird Shadow Man, and to my knowledge no one has explained him in a satisfactory way. The Neighbor meanwhile builds a huge and daunting house that the actual player character traverses to unlock the Neighbor’s secrets, and here’s where it gets interesting. This now maddens both the Neighbor and his son, and as we see in the main game, the boy gets locked in the basement. So what do we take away from Hide and Seek? Well, the death of the daughter. The last scene we see in the game is the Neighbor locking the son inside the basement. Maddened by the grief of losing his mother, the boy sends the girl on a fetch quest to get her doll, and then pushes her off of a high roof, sending her to her eventual death. But this is also the game where we hear of and see the death of the daughter.

Now, this game starts off harmless, but then spirals inwards on itself and just gets dangerous, and eventually deadly. You collect little plushies as you work through fun and difficult puzzles to eventually get to the next chapter. You play through the game as the daughter, and the boy playing a sort of Neighbor-type role. Next, we fast-forward to the events of Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek, where we get to see the fun and then dangerous and then eventually deadly adventures of the neighbors two kids, his daughter and his son. Then, you go through and see the Neighbor angry, and so there goes the wife. The other mini game is the one where you can see the hospital bed where the wife is, and you see her heart monitor go to a flatline. We don’t actually get to see a model of the wife, BUT we do see a high heel near the window we are looking through. The first one is the scene where we witness the car crash (sort of). She gets murdered in a car accident, as evidenced by two different death sequences in the main game. Okay! Now, a timeline of Hello Neighbor would be hella hard because we never get any dates BUT!! We can go off of certain events and probably some guesses.įrom what I’ve been able to gather, I believe that the wife dies first. Also, we never see the protagonist of he main game, at least we never get to play with him and experience some of the shenanigans happening from maybe his point of view. For one, you have the kids and the neighbors wife, fully alive and well, which we know is only partially true in the main game. In particular, a little timeline/theory that I had.įirst thing I’m gonna say is that I’m confident that Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek is a prequel to Hello Neighbor the game.
